Salzburg!! 29/4-1/5
Finally back home from Salzburg! it's weird tat when i go travelling i'll miss my munich home but when im back i cant wait to fly out again! =) It was indeed a fruitful trip for me as i get to fulfil my two most impt aims in Salzburg, which is to visit mozart's birthplace n visit the "sound of music" filmsites!! =) It was a pity though tat i din have enuf time to visit mozart's wohnhaus (the place he lived in)..but im satisfied already. =) here's a brief recap of my salzburg trip:
The 1st day
I was soo excited to be here! have been wanting to come here since 2 yrs ago..n im finally here!!! the place where some of my favourite things are..=) The youth hostel (yoho) was a pretty nice place to live in, mostly coz it's new n for the first time in my life i dun mind sharing toilet. it feels like back in the days of my sec 3 camp. quite fun. =) one only bad thing is tat we only have 7 pple so had to share with another person (8 bed dorm)..n tat person always happen to slp early..so..we had to tiptoe n grasp ard in the dark for our stuff. quite miserable without light. it was raining tat day n most of the shops were closed as night falls. we walked ard the market area n visited the Residenzplatz + Mirabell garden + Schloss. It was a cold day!! esp when the rain gets heavier.
The 2nd day
Hallstatt! took a bus den train there. the view outside was so beautiful!! it was white everywhere from last night's snow! feels like christmas! =) we were all so hungry by the time we reached n stumbled upon a small restaurant which served real good food + wine! yummy!! =) we planned to visit the icecave but...coz the snow from the previous night reached 30cm...it's closed for the day..we were really disappointed as we made our way down back to Hallstatt. the view was spectacular! we were surrounded by mountains n lakes. it was really WOW..=)
The 3rd day
this was the most fulfilling day of this trip! i went for the "sound of music" tour!! there was this burning sensation in me as i see the places n listen to the soundtrack while the film went through my mind over n over again. haha childhood days memories came flooding in..=) the tour guide was good n revealed to us some insides which made me go "really?" it happens tat some of the scenes in the show r cut n paste or filmed at hollywood. a bit disappointed..but well..went for lunch at this restaurant beside the river which serve v gd curry + bread! im too deprived..haha..=p after which i visited the mozart birthplace museum. none of my frens were interested so..i went alone. it was v enriching n get to learn some mozart history. v interesting..=) but somehow feel a bit odd..coz the whole grp was waiting for me at mac..v ps..hope they dun feel too bored..coz i juz have to go. =)
